In June we will talk about anatomy. The word we’ve chosen for this week was cardia.
Cardia is a small ring of muscle, also called sphincter that can open and close, making the connection between two organs in the body. In the case of the cardia, it connect the oesophagus to the stomach. In Portuguese we translate it as “cárdia”.
