Litigation/Contencioso
Explanation/Explicação
This month we will be talking about legal vocabulary. Legal translation is always taken as the most complex and challenging because it requires greater accuracy. It is out of question to use “can” in legal English. Instead, we must use “may”. The same happens to “must” and “shall”. This last one is used in legal documents.
This week’s term is litigation. In Portuguese this term is translated as Contencioso.
