English/Inglês
Chunder

Portuguese/Português
Vomitar

Explanation/Explicação

The fact that there’s more than one country speaking the same language doesn’t mean they use exactly the same words. Countries have their own culture and they evolve differently from one another and therefore their common language ends up having some differences. In March and April we will bring you a few words that you can only hear in Australia.

In Australian slang the word “chunder” means vomit. In the Men at Work song “Downunder” the verse “Where beer does flow and men chunder” means that men drink too much beer and then they get sick and vomit.

O verso “Where beer does flow and men chunder”, da canção ‘Downunder” dos Men at Work significa que os homens bebem demasiada cerveja e depois ficam mal dispostos e vomitam.
