Hemácias

Explanation/Explicação
In August and September we will be talking again about anatomy. The term we’ve chosen for this week was red blood cells.

Red blood cells, also called erythrocytes are the cells responsible for the transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood. Their red colour is due to a pigment called hemoglobin. In Portuguese is translated as “Hemácias”, “Eritrócitos” or more commonly as “Glóbulos Vermelhos”.
