Explanation/Explicação

In September we will be talking about trees. This week we talk about the oak tree.
The oak tree belong to the Quercus Genus, which have a great number of species worldwide. Usually oak is translated as “carvalho” in Portuguese, however there are a few native species of the Quercus genus, like Quercus suber, from which is extracted the cork and it’s called sobreiro, and Quercus  Ilex rotundifolia which has the Portuguese name of azinheira. Both native of the South of Portugal and Spain.
