Cheers is an expression used in British English with different meanings to the usual friendly expression you use before  a toast with drinks. In British English it is common to hear "Cheers!" with two other meanings.

1. Thank You
"I've brought you a cup of tea."
"Cheers! That's very kind"

2. Goodbye
"Cheers! See you tomorrow!"

"Cheers!" é uma expressão usada em Inglês Britânico com significados diferentes to habitual expressão usada quando se faz um brinde. Em Inglês Britânico é frequente ouvir dizer "Cheers!" com dois outros significados.

1. Obrigado/a
"I've brought you a cup of tea."/ Trouxe-te um chá.
"Cheers! That's very kind" / Obrigado! É muito simpático da tua parte.

2. Adeus
"Cheers! See you tomorrow!" / Adeus! Até amanhã.
